A unique landscape of steep hills carpeted with vineyards, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. Between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene winds the Prosecco Road, Italy's oldest wine route, dotted with viewpoints, wineries and small villages. Perfect to explore by car, bike or on foot, ideally with a tasting stop along the way.
Along the Prosecco Road dozens of wineries open their doors to tell the story of how the famous DOCG sparkling wine is made. From small family estates to larger producers, you can tour the vineyards, learn the production method and taste the different styles, from Brut to Extra Dry. We recommend booking ahead: we'll gladly suggest our favourites.
Nicknamed 'the town of a hundred horizons', Asolo is one of Italy's loveliest villages, perched among the Treviso hills. Crowned by its medieval fortress, it treasures arcaded streets, frescoed palaces and a square with a fountain. Loved by poets and artists such as Robert Browning and Eleonora Duse, it is perfect for a stroll through history, art and views. About 40 minutes' drive away.
Listed among 'the most beautiful villages in Italy', Cison di Valmarino is a charming town at the foot of the Treviso Prealps, overlooked by CastelBrando castle. Don't miss the Via dei Mulini, a walk along the stream past old workshops, and the historic centre with its craft shops. Every summer it hosts 'Artigianato Vivo', the long-running artisan fair. About 20 minutes from the B&B.
Set amid greenery in Refrontolo, the Molinetto della Croda is an old 17th-century watermill built at the foot of a rock face (the 'croda'), where a scenic waterfall tumbles down. Beautifully preserved and still working, it is one of the most photographed spots in the hills. All around, trails and meadows are perfect for a picnic or a walk. About 15 minutes' drive away.
One of the largest inhabited castles in Europe, CastelBrando towers over Cison di Valmarino with origins dating back to Roman times. Today it houses a hotel, restaurants and museums, and can be reached on foot or by a handy funicular. Its terraces offer spectacular views over the valley. Well worth a visit for its history, atmosphere and panoramas. About 20 minutes from the B&B.
One of the world's most enchanting cities is within easy reach: St Mark's Square, the Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal and Venice's alleys deserve at least a full day. From Conegliano it's an easy train ride of about an hour, avoiding traffic and parking. An unforgettable experience of art, history and romance, perfect as a day trip during your stay.
Elegant and lively, Treviso is a little gem often overlooked: water canals, medieval arcades, Piazza dei Signori and the views along the river Sile make it a delight to explore on foot. It's the city of famous pastry (home of tiramisù) and red radicchio. Less than 30 minutes from the B&B, it's perfect for a half-day of shopping, art and good food.
